How do I save videos from a JVC digital video camera to an Acer Laptop with Windows Vista?

I have need of to transfer my videos from my JVC video camera to an Acer laptop. Pleeeeeeaaaaase can you help?

If you have have Vista you have VIDEO Intention..
you need to have a Firewire connected to your Firewire INPUT..at the LapTop--Upload(side)..PORT...

...you may need to use PUBLISH---to this COMPUTER..to remove all the PANES that Vista acquires from a CamCorder---then start your EDITING onwards from a SINGLE--PANE..you'll wish you have DUAL CORE at this standing--

I like to use my AC-DC CUBE--for operating my Camcorder in UPLOADS(editing)..give your Battery a go...

With the Camcorder TURNED-OFF...
Plug-IN the DV(IN)Cable...on the Camcorder SIDE..then attach the FIREWIRE---PORT..to the Camcorder---this is called DV-IN...

Next....Stuff the AC/DC Cube into the wall outlet...be sure the CAMERA is in the OFF-mode/

First START your LapTop---
Get to your DESKTOP---
Let everything Onus...

Now...Turn the Camcorder Power-Switch...to:...PLAYBACK...

This is your BEST--Editing---Submit SIZE---also called LARGE FILE...
Because you always want to start LARGE---and RENDER---smaller...

Click///Start Video...and you should have absolute DIGITAL VIDEO control at the Vista Interface---if your Camcorder is a Digital Camcorder---

Older camcorder's...NOT Digital..lack to be TURNED--ON at the Camera SIDE...Old CamCorders don't operate at the Interface-LEVEL..

Just let the FILE UPLOAD---
...once fully UPLOADED....
You can Silent...the VIDEO INPUT---program...
Shut-OFF the Camcorder---
...I usually perform a Re-Start---
...at the NEW DESKTOP---I Level with the Firewire from the Camcorder and replace my Battery and perform a Re-Charge---ready for my next project...
