This is The Woof Ranch, a charming dog house designed by studio PDW. It has a cozy-looking wood paneled exterior, a small window and a covered deck with artificial turf on it. There’s even a little planter next to the deck. The low tapered roof is covered in shingles and gives this dog house a very authentic and awesome look.
If you’re living in a minimalist house with a sculptural, contemporary design you can give your dog a stylish little house that features the same characteristics. Studio Bad Marlon has designed a series of modern pet homes specifically with this idea in mind. This is one of the products.
There’s also the option to give your little dog a luxury ceramic Caravan house. It’s cute and it has a simple and modern design and it measures 52 cm in width and 45 cm in height, with a depth of 29 cm. This stylish dog house was designed by Marco Morosini and suits small dogs but can also be a cozy sleeping nook for cats which actually love to hide in such structures.
This is the Puphaus, a miniature version of a modern home for dogs that live in style. It was designed by Pyramd Design Co. and it’s built using materials such as western red cedar wood and cement boards. The combination is meant to make the house look authentic and feel at home in any usual outdoor setting. The flat roof makes a cool design statement and the stainless steel bowls are a practical addition.
Here’s another minimalist dog house, this time designed by studio Lambert&Max. It’s called Matterhorn, named after the Matterhorn mountain in the Swiss Alps and its stylish design is an artistic interpretation of mountains in general. The steep angle gives it a sculptural look.
Design studio Full Loft created a series of modern pet furniture pieces for dogs and cats alike. The focus of the collection is on multifunctionality and as a result, you can think of this as getting a cozy bed for your pet and a side table for yourself. It’s a combo which makes sense and is very useful in a lot of spaces, especially small ones.
Following the outline of a typical, classic-looking house this dog house is made of plywood and has a very cozy-looking fabric-lined interior with a comfy floor pillow, all included. Mack’s Slim Fit foam earplugs are just like your traditional cone-shaped earplugs but they’re made with a slightly smaller diameter so they fit well in ears that are more sensitive or smaller. These are great because you’re not stuffing giant earplugs into your ears and feeling them wiggle and pop out while you sleep.
What’s even better is that I got a pack of 50 pairs for $10! They have a noise reduction rating or NRR or 29 decibels and can truly be found anywhere – Target, Walgreens, Amazon, etc. Plus, Mack’s has a ton of other options so if you want a foam earplug for a low cost but feel like you need a bigger size, no problem. These earplugs are my go-to to have around the house for guests or family who need them.

A great customizable and non-foam earplug – and one of my favorites that’s affordable – are the Ohropax Classic wax earplugs. These are made in Germany and super popular – you can find them all over. You get 12 earplugs, or 6 pairs, for about $6.
What I really like about this specific brand is that they come wrapped in cotton so they’re easy to separate. You can pull apart any extra wax you don’t want and warm it up in your hands. After that, it’s easy to mold them as you like. I personally like to make them more of a cone shape and then create a little plug at the end so they’re easy to remove.
They do a great job of sealing the ears shut and becoming barely noticeable, especially while sleeping and they have an NRR of 23 decibels.

Squeeze the earplug softly, shape into a sufficiently sized cohesive ball and seal the auditory canal tightly using a little gentle pressure. Do not insert deeply.
After using, make sure to use your fingers to remove the earplugs. Apply some light pressure on the outer ear from behind to loosen the earplugs. Do not use hard or sharp objects to remove the earplugs

Last but not least I really like the PQ Sleep earplugs for sleeping. In particular, the reusable noise-canceling earplugs. These have little flanges that help them fit snuggly into your ear canal without getting lost. They also come with a nice case to put them in and these will cancel noise up to 35 decibels.
One great deal is that you can get a whole PQ earplug package for about $15 online. You not only get the re-usable set, but you’ll also get 35 pairs of foam earplugs as well as a pair of wax earplugs.
What I like about this is that now you’re set for any situation where you’ll need an earplug. If you decide one night that the re-usable ones aren’t working for you, you have three additional options to choose from. Or you have a pair handy if you want to go swimming but want to toss the plugs after. This is a great introductory pack to earplugs if you’re just getting started as well!

What To Consider Before Buying Your Next Set Of Earplugs
Noise Reduction Rating
You’ll see the NRR rating, it stands for Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) is a unit of measurement used to determine the effectiveness of hearing protection devices. To give you an idea of the range, an alarm clock is around 80db and a quiet room around 40db.
The earplugs in this list all block some amount of noise, but don’t cancel out all noise. This way, you’ll be able to hear important things – like your alarm clock or a fire alarm – but will still have regular sounds blocked out so you can sleep peacefully.
Primary Use
Some people need earplugs on certain occasions. They’re staying in a new place with strange sounds or their partner has a cold and is snoring for a few nights. Others need earplugs to sleep every night and can’t go to sleep without silence. If you’re an occasional earplug user, I recommend going with a more budget-friendly disposable option. However, if you need earplugs to sleep every night, it’s worth finding a high-quality reusable pair that you like that’s ready by your bedside when it’s time for sleep.

If it’s not already clear, earplugs in several different types of materials. The most common ones that you’ll find in stores are foam and wax as disposable options and silicone as a reusable option.
I highly recommend buying small packs of a few different kinds that look appealing and deciding which is the best fit for you.
