The bathroom tour is the first full room I’m sharing of the #raisingsimplehouse since we moved in. I’m excited to finally begin sharing what I have been working so hard on for 2 years now. Good things take time as they say and this is certainly no exception. My kids and I moved in 5 months ago and it’s been so rewarding to use the space I designed. There are a few things I would do differently but nothing major. It’s all part of the learning process. Also, I should mention there was drywall dust on my floor when I took this photo-hence the light areas on it.
Now on the Simple Master Bathroom reveal!
*I’ve included all bathroom sources with my affiliate links at the bottom of this post.
The bathroom vanity is mid century modern credenza from Denmark. I found it at Retro Passion in Atlanta. I prefer a minimalist modern style with a vintage feel and this piece was just what I was looking for. You can see how I used it for my tv until I was ready to turn it into a vanity. There are 3 working drawers of the bottom and two cabinets with an bi-fold door. Take a look at all its stages to become a bathroom vanity right here.
I installed the brass hook simply for the purpose of hanging my hair dryer on it. I dry my hair every day (helps calm the frizz) and decided it would be convenient to leave it plugged in but not on the counter. The hook miraculously holds my brush too.
This is the view walking into my bathroom. Morning time is glorious. Two of my priorities for this Simple Master Bath were lots of natural light (there can never be too much natural light), and plants. Yes, I literally had plants drawn in my house plans. Some people have more pieces of furniture, I have plants :). To bring in as much light as possible I used a triple casement window. I love that they open from the side and give the room a clean feel. If you’re wondering about the plant on the wall, it’s a Staghorn fern.
I use a this small stool for a small plant, candle and body brush.
In the future, I may decide to put a small knee-wall 2-3 ft tall in between the toilet and the plant to provide more privacy. But for now, this is working well for me. For ease of use and practicality I used the same Retro Black Penny tile throughout the entire bathroom floor (shower included!).
The basket near the toilet holds the toilet paper. Who Gives a Crap toilet paper to be precise. It’s good for the planet and still good for your bum ;). If you’re interested in switching to more sustainable products in your home, this is a great option! Order here and get $10 off your first order! On a side note, I save the tp tubes and paper it’s packaged in for my kids. They love using the supplies to make all kinds of creations.
As you can see, I went so minimalist I left out the shower door and designed a curbless shower. Of all the showers I have cleaned, this one has by far been to easiest to keep clean! The shower drys out more quickly since it’s so open and that means less mold.
Since this picture was taken I have added a small stool for the plant to sit on.
I keep my shampoo in the amber glass bottle, the light yellow bar is my conditioner (I just rub it on the lower half of my hair), and the bright yellow bar is my body and face soap.
Hope you’ve enjoyed this Simple Bathroom tour!
