Orders of This Bathroom Essential Are Up 1,310%

Posted by admin on

Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen sales of paint and wallpaper spike; being stuck at home means you can finally tackle that project you’ve been putting off. But what about ways to pass the time that don’t involve a mini renovation? ShopStyle recently pulled data from its network of shoppers—and it turns out, the best-selling items all have one thing in common: They’re all various tactics people rely on to unwind. No paintbrush required.

For example, bakeware sales are up 311 percent, while clicks on drinkware are up by 167 percent. Bath towels have seen a 1,310 percent jump; candles are at a 392 percent increase. These stats reflect little purchases people are turning to as coping mechanisms—and whether your interpretation of that is gingerly coaxing sourdough from a starter or setting up camp in a bubble-filled bathtub, we’ve pulled together some of those products to help you relax.

If You Like to Bake the Stress Away…

All it takes is a cursory glance at Instagram to realize that practically everyone is dabbling in bread-making these days. Though interestingly enough, loaf tins aren’t what seem to be piquing shoppers’ interest: ShopStyle reports that muffin pans got top billing. Time to crack open that cookbook you got as a housewarming gift.

Silicone Mini Muffin Pan, Silpat ($60)

Ruffled Square Baker, Emile Henry ($40)

If Your Zoom Happy Hours Are the Best Part of the Day…

Why not beef up your bar cart? Corkscrews, carafes, decanters, and (of course) wine glasses are all trending—in our opinion, you can never have too much colorful glassware. Plus, alcohol sales are up right now, and you’ll need something to sip your Ina Garten–style cosmo out of.

Tint Tumblers (set of 2), Hay ($24)

Striped Glass Carafe, Anthropologie ($58)

If You’re an At-Home Spa Pro…

Soak away the evening in the comfort of your tub, and pick up a plush new towel to accessorize your makeshift bathhouse (and add a pop of color to your bathroom). Apparently, Missoni pieces are especially popular; we guess it has something to do with the brand’s mood-boosting patterns.

Wilbur Bath Towel, Missoni Home ($80)

Simple Waffle Bath Towel, Hawkins New York ($49)

If You’re All About Creating a Calming Environment…

You’re only a candle (or two) away from your ideal zen space. Take a page from Marie Kondo: The organizing expert likes to choose different scents to differentiate her work space from her relaxation zone. Per the report, Diptyque is enjoying a moment in the spotlight, but if you’d rather keep things simple, stick with tapers. Soft lighting makes everything better.

Red Tubereuse Candle, Diptyque ($100)

Ombre Taper Candle Set, Urban Outfitters ($12)
